Asurion has announced that the company has reached a definitive agreement to bring one of Europe’s largest appliance-care providers under its umbrella. The move will expand Asurion’s leadership in both technology and appliance care while advancing its long-term vision of delivering seamless, intelligent support for every connected device and appliance in the home.
Asurion is a global leader in technology protection, support, and care, serving more than 300 million customers worldwide. By combining Asurion’s deep expertise in device support with Domestic & General’s century-long legacy in appliance protection, the two companies aim to provide customers with a unified, world-class service experience.
Domestic & General brings more than 110 years of appliance-care experience, a repair network of more than 25,000 engineers, and millions of subscription customers across the UK, Europe, and beyond. The company partners with major brands such as Whirlpool, Sky, Hoover-Candy, and John Lewis, and will continue operating under its own brand as a business unit of Asurion upon closing.
Asurion CEO Guru Gowrappan stated that the acquisition aligns with the company’s vision to become the “CTO of the home,” offering intelligent, predictive, and efficient support across all connected devices and appliances. Domestic & General CEO Matthew Crummack emphasized the shared commitment to customer excellence and described the combination as a natural fit that opens new opportunities for innovation and growth.
The transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory approvals. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
