MartechSeries has reported that Durable has launched Discoverability, a new built-in feature designed to help small businesses improve how they appear across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search platforms. The tool reflects a shift in how customers find local services, as more than half of consumers now turn to AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and Perplexity for recommendations.
Discoverability introduces what Durable calls Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), a new approach to visibility that goes beyond traditional SEO. Rather than focusing solely on ranking in search engines like Google, the tool helps businesses understand and improve how they appear across major AI platforms, where visibility has historically been difficult for small businesses to track or influence.
The feature is integrated directly into Durable’s platform, which already supports website creation, invoicing, and business operations. Through a single dashboard, business owners can see how their company appears across multiple channels, including AI search, online directories, and review platforms. This centralized view is designed to simplify what has traditionally been a fragmented and complex process.
Key features include a Visibility Score that measures how easily a business can be found online, along with actionable recommendations for improvement. The platform also identifies high-impact directory listings—such as Yelp and other local platforms—and flags inconsistencies in key business information like name, address, and phone number. In addition, Discoverability provides AI visibility rankings, showing whether a business appears when users ask AI tools for recommendations and how it compares to competitors.
The tool also incorporates review and competitor tracking, enabling businesses to request customer feedback, monitor reviews, and track how competitors are performing across search and AI platforms. These insights aim to give small business owners a clearer understanding of their digital presence without requiring specialized marketing expertise.
Discoverability is available with a free entry-level option, while more advanced features—including deeper AI rankings and expanded competitor analysis—are included in Durable’s paid plans. The launch is part of Durable’s broader mission to make business ownership more accessible by automating core functions and reducing the complexity of running and growing a company.
As AI-driven search continues to reshape how consumers discover businesses, tools like Discoverability aim to give small business owners the ability to compete in a landscape that has traditionally favored larger companies with dedicated marketing resources.
