DAT Strengthens Freight Fintech Capabilities with Acquisition of Outgo

DAT Freight & Analytics, the largest truckload freight marketplace in North America, announced the acquisition of Outgo, a Seattle-based financial technology startup offering modern banking and payment solutions to freight carriers.

The acquisition enhances DAT’s capabilities in streamlining freight payments and improving cash flow for small carriers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2022, Outgo has raised over $19 million from prominent investors, including Gradient Ventures, Construct Capital, Neo, PSL Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, and others. The company offers an all-in-one finance platform that allows trucking businesses to manage invoice processing, factoring, and payment collection—without requiring annual contracts.

“Cash flow is the lifeblood of small carriers, and at the heart of any great high-trust marketplace is the payment connection between the buyer and seller,” said Jeff Clementz, CEO of DAT. “Outgo sets the industry standard for funding speed, transparency, and flexibility.”

Outgo will continue to operate as a distinct service within DAT, maintaining its headquarters in Seattle. Its team of 30 employees has been invited to stay on and continue scaling the platform’s capabilities as part of DAT’s broader service offering.

Marcus Womack, co-founder and CEO of Outgo, will join DAT’s executive leadership team. Womack is a seasoned product leader, previously at Uber, and co-founded Outgo with Mike Bohlander and Ray Fortna. The founding trio previously collaborated at several successful startups, including social music platform iLike (acquired by MySpace), photo-sharing app Familiar (acquired by Evidence.com), and held key engineering roles at Convoy, a Seattle-based freight marketplace that shuttered in 2023.

“Joining forces with DAT enables us to accelerate our mission to empower carriers with modern financial tools designed specifically for the freight industry,” said Womack. “We’re excited to build on our foundation and reach a broader audience of carriers through DAT’s trusted marketplace.”

This move underscores the growing intersection between logistics and fintech, particularly in the Seattle region, which has become a hub for freight technology innovation.

DAT Freight & Analytics is a business unit of Roper Technologies (NYSE: ROP), a diversified industrial technology company.
