Monitor Daily reports that Piermont Bank has expanded its leadership team as it prepares for its next phase of growth, adding senior executives to strengthen its capabilities in embedded banking, payments, and lending. The appointments include an expanded role for Wenni Wu as chief growth officer, Dennis Day as chief payments officer, and Derrick Cornelious as chief credit officer.
Wu will broaden her responsibilities to oversee all deposit-related businesses at the bank, including embedded banking deposits, program management, and Piermont’s overall deposit strategy. She has played a key role in the bank’s growth since its launch in 2019, helping build its fintech partnership ecosystem and expand its embedded banking platform.
Day joins Piermont with more than two decades of experience across the payments ecosystem, including leadership roles in card issuing, merchant acquiring, and faster payments. In his new role, he will lead the development of the bank’s payment infrastructure, focusing on scaling fintech partnerships and supporting real-time and embedded payment experiences.
Cornelious will oversee the bank’s credit strategy and risk management framework while supporting the expansion of Piermont’s commercial and embedded lending programs. He brings extensive experience in commercial banking and credit leadership, including senior roles at First Republic Bank and BNY Mellon.
Piermont founder and CEO Wendy Cai-Lee said the expanded leadership team reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting modern businesses operating in an increasingly digital and AI-driven economy. By combining cloud-native infrastructure, AI-driven insights, and relationship-based banking, the bank aims to strengthen its ability to support fintech platforms and high-growth companies.
