Beacon Financial Emerges from Berkshire Hills–Brookline Merger

Rita Darwood at MonitorDaily.com has reported that Beacon Financial has completed the merger of equals between Berkshire Hills Bancorp, the parent company of Berkshire Bank, and Brookline Bancorp, the parent company of Brookline Bank, Bank Rhode Island, and PCSB Bank. The merger, effective Sept. 1, 2025, created Beacon Financial Corporation, the parent company of Beacon Bank & Trust, commonly known as Beacon Bank.

“We’re pleased to have successfully completed our merger of equals to form Beacon Financial Corporation and position the company to be a predominant regional bank serving the Northeast,” said Paul A. Perrault, CEO of the combined company. “We thank the employees of both companies for their hard work and dedication to ensuring the timely completion of the merger. Our focus now turns to completing the integration of our banking systems to deliver a seamless client experience, provide additional service capabilities and generate enhanced financial performance for stockholders.”

According to the company, customers will continue banking as they do today at Berkshire Bank, Brookline Bank, Bank Rhode Island, and PCSB Bank. Each of these banks will operate as divisions of Beacon Bank. Services through branches, websites, mobile apps, financial advisors, and relationship managers will remain available without disruption during the transition.

As an immediate benefit, clients can now enjoy fee-free ATM withdrawals at any location across the four banks’ networks. Over the coming months, customers will begin to see updates such as the new Beacon Bank name appearing on statements, within online banking, and at branches. These changes are part of a gradual rebranding process that will accompany system integration.

The company expects full integration of banking systems and a complete transition to the Beacon Bank brand in the first quarter of 2026. Until then, existing bank names will continue to be used while operations are aligned under the Beacon Financial umbrella.
